Developing Needs Analysis of Critical Literacy Models for Teaching EFL Reading Class

Critical literacy models have been integrated into learning process in the English-speaking countries such as Australia, New Zealand, America, England, and some Europian countriea. As matter of fact, critical model used particularly for teaching reading classess is rarely found, especially which fits with characteristics EFL students. This study aims to explore needs analysis development class. research adapted Four D consists four steps; defining, designing, developing, disseminating. The results revealed following. First, researcher conducted preliminary English Language Education Study Program three universities Yogyakarta was meant analyze students’ problems real setting. Second, created prototype accordance study. Third, validated two experts field testing evaluate validity questionnaire. validation show that questionnaire feasible (87.5 %) assess model. Furthermore, order practicality questionnaire, a 27 students private university Yogyakarta. In conclusion, become basis develop classes.
